Who We Are

Des Plaines Valley Region (DVR) Education for Employment Regional Delivery System is a consortium of school districts building the future for elementary, high school and community college students through partnerships with business, industry and the community. Through these partnerships, DVR supports the development and delivery of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and work-based learning experiences that help students explore career pathways, develop technical and professional skills, and connect classroom learning to real-world careers.

What is Career and Technical Education? What is Work-Based Learning?

Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with coursework and training that prepares them for the workforce. Through CTE, students can earn industry certifications and licenses, or prepare for postsecondary education. CTE course areas include manufacturing, business, education, and health sciences.

Work-based learning aims to provide students with authentic, hands-on experience in a professional work environment while developing essential skills and gaining practical knowledge related to their career interests.
